Me, Marcel,
and I

Marcel David is a Manila-based acting coach, specializing in the Meisner Acting Technique. As a Designated Meisner Teacher, he took up the Meisner Teacher Training back in 2023 and finished his certification in 2024 with the Meisner Institute in Los Angeles, California. 

 

Since then, Marcel has been teaching the Meisner Technique under the award-winning Meisner Core program of Sightlines Actors’ Space. Since 2024, he has also started teaching workshops and private artists in collaboration with Star Magic.

Marcel began his theater journey with Ateneo Blue Repertory, performing in Urinetown (2015), choreographing Fame (2017), and serving as the assistant director for Kung Paano Ako Naging Leading Lady (2018). He later worked with The Sandbox Collective as the production manager and stage manager for Sandbox Fest 2023, as well as the assistant director for Bawat Bonggang Bagay (2023) and Tiny Beautiful Things (2024), among others. Additionally, he served as assistant production manager for both runs of One More Chance: The Musical (2024) with PETA Inc.

With the Meisner Technique and his experience in the theatre, Marcel hopes to equip his actors with direct, effective, and simple tools to find authenticity and new depths in their performance.
